Gregory Black

Chief Executive Officer

The AIAT Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Greg Black, is a former Director General of the Department of Education and Training for the Western Australian Government, and former CEO of the Department of Further Education Employment Science and Technology for the South Australian Government. He was also responsible for leading the national body supporting the use of technology in schools VET and higher education, which is now called Education Services Australia (ESA). ESA is a national not-for-profit company owned by the state, territory, and Australian Government education ministers.

Prof. Gjoko Muratovski

Provost & Chief Academic Officer

The AIAT Chief Academic Officer (CAO), Professor Gjoko Muratovski, is the former Director of Digital Futures, a special program funded by the Victorian Higher Education State Investment Fund (VHESIF). The intent of this program was to support the economic development of the State of Victoria by accelerating innovation, strategic development, and digital transformation. Professor Muratovski has also been an invited member of thought leading organisations such as the Stanford Institute for Innovation in Developing Economies (USA), Yale Higher Education Leadership Summit (USA), Oxford Digital Leaders Network (UK), Oxford University Society (Australia), Forbes Councils (USA), and the Future of Learning (India).

Assoc. Prof. Deborah Churchman

Director, Learning & Teaching

Director, MBA (Leadership and Innovation) Program

The AIAT Director for Learning & Teaching, Associate Professor Deborah Churchman has held senior academic roles at Australian and overseas universities and Institutes of Higher Education for over 30 years. In recent years, she has focused on strategies to engage students and enhance learning through development of graduate attributes, innovative assessment strategies and the embedding of key workplace universal skills in a range of subjects. Associate Professor Churchman is also leading the AIAT MBA (Leadership and Innovation) program.

Assoc. Prof. Murli Viswanathan

Director, IT Programs

The AIAT Director for Information Technology (IT) Programs, Associate Professor Murli Viswanathan, is a Subject Matter Expert (Analytics) with the Accenture Academy. He is also actively involved with leading Professional and Continuing Education programs on digital transformation for the Philippine Government, funded by the Australia Award – a scholarship program by the Australian Government Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT). For 15 years he was Associate Professor in Information Technology at Carnegie Mellon University.

Dr. Asheley Jones

Dr Asheley Jones is Chief Learning and Innovation Officer at CPA. Prior to this she served as an Adjunct Professor of Professional Practice at DeakinCo, the executive education arm of Deakin University, the Head of Education for the Australian Council of Professions, and as Director of Education for the Australian Computer Society (ACS). Dr Jones is also a member of the TEQSA register of experts, and Director of the Membership Advisory Board and National Congress representative for the ACS. She has extensive experience in the private higher education sector as a board member and adviser. Dr Jones was appointed to the role of Chair of the Board of Directors for AIAT In 2023 and has overseen the successful establishment of AIAT’s operations.

Dr. Ian Whyte

  • Chair, Academic Board
Dr Ian Whyte has a career in education and training spanning for more than 40 years. Over the years he has held executive level positions in several higher education and vocational education and training institutions such as the International College of Hotel Management (ICHM), University of South Australia, International Centre of Excellence in Water Resources Management (ICE WaRM), Le Cordon Bleu, and TAFE SA. He is also a Member of the Tertiary Education and Quality Standards Agency (TEQSA) Expert Register. Dr Whyte brings a wealth of experience and knowledge in academic quality and compliance to his role as the Chair of the AIAT Academic Board.
