Over the past 23 years, the Chinese Government has strategically built an elite network of global professionals from diverse sectors and regions worldwide.

Referred to as “High-End Foreign Experts,” this distinguished group includes Nobel Laureates, Turing Award winners, and our own Provost and Chief Academic Officer, Prof. Gjoko Muratovski. Upon their appointment, Foreign Experts are paired with China’s Tier 1 universities, fostering opportunities to collaborate, conduct research, and drive innovation—often at a scale and pace unmatched globally.

For the past decade, Prof. Muratovski has worked closely with Tongji University, one of China’s premier academic institutions. As the Mayor of Shanghai aptly remarked during his welcome speech at the 22nd Conference on International Exchange of Professionals, “Just as fish seek deep water and birds seek deep forests, talent also seeks nurturing environments.”

The conference’s opening ceremony hosted more than 1,300 international experts from over 120 countries and regions, underscoring the Chinese Government’s commitment to fostering global partnerships.
