Icona and the Australian Institute of Advanced Technologies (AIAT) are proud to announce a transformative partnership that heralds a new era in mobility innovation and education. This collaboration establishes the first Icona Centre of Excellence in Future Mobility – a visionary hub dedicated to redefining transportation through industry-focused research, emerging technologies, transformative education, and sustainable practices.

Starting with AIAT, this global initiative is focused on achieving the following objectives:

• Research and Development (R&D) in Advanced Technologies: Collaborating with AIAT’s R&D team to explore how emerging technologies can address the challenges of future mobility.
• Global Network of Icona Centres of Excellence: AIAT will host the inaugural Centre, with plans to introduce more Centres at other innovation-driven organizations worldwide.
• Transformative Education and Sustainability: In alignment with the UN Sustainable Development Goals and UNESCO’s transformative education principles, the Centre will prepare future leaders with the skills to drive sustainable mobility innovations.

As a first step, Icona will establish its representative office in Australia, strategically located at AIAT’s Adelaide campus. This milestone marks the beginning of stronger international collaboration, fostering a shared vision of mobility excellence driven by innovation and new technologies.
